The upcoming seminar by Dr. Hossein Masoumi will cover a brief introduction of Monash University and Department of Civil Engineering, especially the Resource Engineering Program for undergraduate education and research strength for postgraduate studies. It is followed by his main research interests that lie in the field of rock mechanics with particular focus on size/scale and shape effects on intact rock as well as constitutive modelling of intact rock exhibiting size/scale dependent behavior under uniaxial and tri-axial conditions. The seminar will provide a good opportunity for all academics in DLUT to seek for any potential research collaborations with Resource Engineering group in Monash University. It will also aid all the students in exploring any possibilities to study Resource Engineering Program in Monash University in the future. Questions and enquiries regarding anything related to oversea study and research collaboration are welcome.
