报告摘要:

There are many important applications of nano/microscale thermal radiation such as energy harvesting, nanomanufacturing, thermal control and management, and high-resolution thermal mapping. Nanostructures such as gratings and carbon nanotube arrays allow tuning of the spectral and directional radiative properties. Recent advances in graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) materials offer enormous potential to transform current microelectronic, optoelectronic, photonic devices, as well as energy systems. As a layered 2D material with carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice, graphene has unique electronic and optical properties. Exotic radiative properties can be enabled by graphene-covered micro/nanostructures, including perfect absorption, and blocking assisted transmission. Hexagonal boron nitride is a 2D dielectric with anisotropic phonon characteristics. The excitation of the hyperbolic phonon polaritons enable further tailoring of the radiative properties. In this presentation, I will give an overview of the theoretical and experimental research, which has been carried out in my group, on the radiative properties of nano/microstructures during the past ten years.

 

报告人简介:

  张卓敏教授博士毕业于麻省理工学院(MIT),之后曾在美国国家标准技术研究所(NIST)和佛罗里达大学工作,目前治亚理工学院(Georgia Tech机械工程系教授主要从事微纳米尺度热传递研究,尤其是纳米尺度热辐射,广泛应用于能源转换和温度测量领域,在工程热物理领域享有盛誉。著有《微纳米尺度传热学》一书,已发表超过180篇期刊论文做过多个国际大会的组委会主席,有超过370个学术报告,其中有多个邀请报告他获得了1999年“青年科学家与工程师总统奖”(PECASE),2015年“美国机械工程学会传热学纪念奖”(ASME Heat Transfer Memorial Award)。美国机械工程学会(ASME),美国科学促进会(AAAS)和美国物理学会(APSFellow以及美国航空航天学会(AIAAAssociate Fellow国际著名期刊Journal of Heat Transfer Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy & Radiative Transfer主编。
